Kanchenjunga

World's Third Highest Mountain Region

Kanchenjunga Trekking in Nepal

Kanchenjunga at 8,586m is the world's third highest peak and one of the most magnificent mountains in the Himalayas. The Kanchenjunga region offers trekkers the opportunity to explore pristine wilderness areas that remain relatively untouched by mass tourism.

Located in Nepal's far east, the Kanchenjunga Conservation Area spans elevations from 1,200m to over 8,000m, encompassing remarkable ecological diversity including subtropical forests, alpine meadows, and glacial moraines. The conservation area is home to endangered species including the snow leopard, red panda, and Himalayan black bear.

The area is inhabited by the Limbu people, known for their unique culture, martial traditions, and deep respect for nature. Trekking here is more physically challenging than popular routes, but the rewards are genuine wilderness experiences, spectacular mountain views, and warm local hospitality.
